Kent Charity Award 2026 Winner

๐Ÿ†โœจ WE DID IT! โœจ๐Ÿ†

We are absolutely thrilled to share that The Caldecott Foundation has been named Kent Charity of the Year 2026 in the Large Charity category!

As part of the judging process, Dina Henry and Neil Poynton visited Caldecott to see our work first-hand. At the awards ceremony, Dina delivered a speech that perfectly captured what Caldecott is all about.

“From the moment we arrived, there was something very special. There was a real sense of warmth, peace and fun. It felt safe and homely. As we walked around, you could sense how much the young people meant to everyone.”

Dina went on to recognise the life-changing work that takes place across our residential homes, school and fostering service, sharing these words:

“They don’t simply provide a place for children to live and learn; they provide security, belonging, opportunity and hope.”

And perhaps the most powerful reflection of all:

“What we saw was not defined by the trauma these young people have been through. We saw hope. We saw opportunity. We saw children being given the chance to feel safe, to feel wanted, to learn to have fun and to believe in a positive future.”

Founded in 1911, Caldecott has been supporting children and young people for more than a century. To have our work recognised in this way is an incredible honour.

This award belongs to our amazing children and young people, our dedicated staff teams, foster carers, volunteers, supporters, donors and partners. Thank you for helping make hope, opportunity and belonging a reality every single day.
