A Dream Come True Thanks to Biffa Hersden Depot

On 17 February 2026, we were delighted to welcome Dean, Ros and Ben from the Biffa Hersden Depot to one of our residential homes for a truly memorable visit.

The visit was organised to support one of our children who has a particular interest in Biffa and their work. Thanks to the kindness and enthusiasm of the team, this interest was transformed into an unforgettable experience.

Dean, Ros and Ben spent time getting to know her, bringing along a selection of Biffa merchandise and sharing their knowledge about the role they play in the community. They gave her a guided tour of one of their trucks, explaining how it operates and what a typical day involves.

The highlight of the visit was the opportunity for her to climb into the cab and enjoy a short drive. This simple yet powerful experience brought immense joy and created a lasting memory.

Experiences like this are incredibly important for the children in our care. They help to build confidence, nurture individual interests and reinforce a sense of being valued and understood. Thoughtful interactions with members of the community can have a lasting and meaningful impact.
