“All young people aren’t academic. These courses give us the ability to give our young people more opportunities to help them when they leave education” Stacey McShane, Head of Education
Land based studies is a popular and developing subject in the Caldecott School Curriculum. Beginning in the form of a meagre allotment style provision in an offsite location the school now boasts a well-equipped potting shed and greenhouse, four poly tunnels and a newly acquired teaching classroom which is fully equipped to meet the demands of a fast developing curriculum subject area.
The young people at Caldecott have achieved many successes in growing a variety of plants including vegetables to be used in the school’s teaching kitchen and in supporting an enterprise day theme of ‘Grow to Eat’.
Courses are available to external students, so for more information on the Land Based Studies course, or any of Caldecott’s Vocational courses, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01303 815664
